Amidst a backdrop of thievery and murder in historic Bridal Veil, Oregon, a schoolteacher is torn between the memories of a distant love and the man who could be her future. Margaret Garvey had given her heart to Nathaniel, but he left town six years before.
Now she's giving love another chance, but her decision to build a new life with Andrew is shaken when Nathaniel steams back into Bridal Veil on a riverboat to work at the nearby sawmill. When disaster strikes the town and threatens the welfare of its citizens, Margaret will be faced with the most important choice of her life.
My thoughts:
Im a fan of the "Love finds you" series, and really enjoyed this story set in the historical setting of the small town of Bridal Veil, Oregon. The love story between Margaret and Nathaniel and Andrew is very touching.. Margaret thought that Nathaniel had left her several years ago, and she wasnt sure whether to trust him or not when he returns to Bridal Veil. The Community of this small town pulls together to try and solve the murder of one of their own, and Margaret meets two Runaway children that are trying to escape to a better way of life.
Without giving too much of the story away...
This story had me turning the pages to see what happens next, it was hard to put down!
I recommend this book to anyone that loves Historical romances!
I also enjoyed the historical facts about this community and the Author's family in the back of this book.

ReplyDeleteMelissa,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your review. Sounds like it is a great book to read. I am not familiar with this author.
How many books are in the series?
Phyllis
Thank you, Melissa. I'm looking forward to reading your review on my new one.
ReplyDeleteAngela, I so appreciate you being willing to consider reading my book, thank you!
Hi Paula, I'm tickled to hear you're familiar with my work and enjoy it, thanks!!
Rosey, thanks for stopping by. Love Finds You in Bridal Veil, Oregon, does have a combo of elements, with real history, a romance, danger/intrigue and a mystery thread all woven in.
Phyllis, Melissa asked me to respond to your question. The Love Finds You line is comprised of dozens of titles. The common thread is that each book is set in a real town (or ghost town, as in the case of 2 of mine) and it must have a strong romance thread. It can be mystery, contemporary, chick lit, historical, although I'd say the majority are historical. There are only two books in the entire 'series' that are linked together in any way....two of mine. I wrote LFY in Last Chance, CA first, and created a very strong secondary character (a dance hall girl) who took on a life of her own. I got a lot of comments about Christy, and when I got the contract for LFY in Tombstone, AZ, I got permission to use Christy as my heroine. Both books are definitely Westerns, with action, adventure, cowboys and romance.
I hope that helps explain a bit more. Thanks!!
Miralee - you are very welcome, I like those types of books. I would also be willing to review your new book Blowing on Dandelions if I should win it, thank you for the chance.
ReplyDeleteIt is way too cool that the author posted a comment on your review!! I love a good love story, especially historical, and this sounds right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteVeronica, I was so tickled that Melissa decided to review my book (we've never met), so I wanted to drop by and show my support and appreciation. Book reviewers don't always get the thanks and recognition they deserve. If it wasn't for them, authors would have a much more difficult time getting the word out about their new books.
ReplyDeleteAngela, that is so sweet of you, thank you for offering to do a review on my new book if you win it!! That's such a help.
Thanks for the response to my question. :))
ReplyDeleteMelissa I think I need to add this lovely author to my list. I can tell how much you enjoyed this book and I certainy add it to my list, Thank you for sharing at the hop xo
ReplyDeleteKatherine, Bless your heart!! You made my day with your sweet comment. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMelissa - what a lovely review! I too was thinking 'how cool the author commented'...and then I read that Veronica thought and said the same thing! How wonderful! Keep up the good work Gal.
ReplyDeleteHi Marsha, it's so nice to meet you
