Book Spotlight - Mayim's Vegan Table: More than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours by Mayim Bialik

On a recent visit to my local library, I checked out a couple of books including
Mayim's Vegan Table: More than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours by Mayim Bialik.
I enjoy watching Mayim Bialik on "The Big Bang Theory"
and I knew that I would enjoy this book!

I really enjoyed looking thru this cookbook!  There are lots of interesting recipes including recipes for Breakfast, Lunches, Desserts and much more!

Book Description:
Many of us know the struggles and challenges of raising our children to be healthy eaters when the outside world presents all sorts of conflicting messages. Mayim Bialik has teamed up with Dr. Jay Gordon to help parents face those challenges head on. Interested in providing nutritious, delicious meals for your kids? Take their advice. Because, believe it or not, your child will eat greens if you just try a fruit-sweetened green smoothie.   From dispelling myths about a vegan diet to tackling the food pyramid, Bialik and Gordon outline how your family can eat healthier even on your busiest days.
But don’t mistake this for a diet diatribe: this lively book offers 125 fuss-free recipes that will please everyone from the pickiest eaters to the savviest palates. This comprehensive guide helps parents set a foundation for lifelong healthy and delicious eating.

OATrageous Oatmeals by Kathy Hester

Oatmeal is a delicious and healthy ingredient to add to many recipes. It tastes great in Desserts, Granola, Smoothies, Cookies, just to name a few!  Recently, I entered a Cookbook Giveaway from the "Foodie Extravaganza" Group on Laurens blog called From Gate to Plate.
I'm so excited that I won this book!  There are so many wonderful recipes that include oatmeal and the photos are so pretty!  Some of the recipes that I'm anxious to try include Mini-Raspberry Cakes, Peanut Butter Pie Oatmeal and Carrot Cake Smoothie.  If you love using Oatmeal in your recipes, this is the perfect Cookbook!

More about the book:
OATrageous Oatmeals is a Simply Incredible Collection of Amazing Oatmeal Recipes

Say goodbye to boring oats and bland mix-ins because bestselling author Kathy Hester shows you delicious and exciting new takes on everyone's favorite health food with Banana Oatmeal Cookie Pancakes, Hummingbird Cake Oatmeal, Chai-Spiced Oat Shakes and Blackberry Mojito Overnight Refrigerator Oats. And she doesn't stop there. Savory recipes like Mushroom Sun-Dried Tomato Steel-Cut Oat Risotto, Oats-bury Steaks, Not-from-a-Box Mac and Oat Chez—even a healthy vegan sausage crumble made from steel-cut oats and spices—will wow oatmeal fans with new and nutritious dishes to try.

More about the author:

Cookie Creations and Cookbook Review and Giveaway

Do you love making Cookies?   I have put together a list of my Favorite Cookies from some of my friends blogs!  All of the Cookies sound so good, it would be hard to choose a favorite!

I'm also sharing a Cookbook Review and a Giveaway from The Better Baker!  To enter the Giveaway, please scroll down.

My friend Kim from The Cookie Puzzle  makes such pretty cookies!  Today, she is sharing her favorite Sugar Cookie recipe with us!    Kim says this recipe is designed to give a thick and soft cookie.

D at The Shady Porch is sharing her Caramel Apple Pie Cookies.  The golden apple pie filling and lattice tops are like personal apple pies, and they are so easy to make!

Marsha from The Better Baker is sharing her Caramel Shortbread Squares.  She describes them as rich little squares with a shortbread crust, caramel center and
topped with chocolate!

Melissa from "Melissa's Southern Style Kitchen" is sharing her recipe for Chocolate Kissed Coconut Macaroons.  Her recipe includes flour, which makes them a bit more cookie-like with a soft and chewy center and a crispy exterior.  They look delicious!

Andi from The Wednesday Baker is sharing her recipe for Pecan Gingerbread Cookies.  Just seeing and smelling these
Gingerbread Men cookies reminds us all of Christmas!

Brandie from The Country Cook is sharing these cute Reindeer Cookies! They make the perfect cookie to share this time of year, and kids love to help make these!

My friend, Marsha from "The Better Baker" sent me a copy of her cookbook called "Love at First Bite" earlier this year, and I love it!  There are so many easy, quick recipes in her cookbook, that it was hard for me to pick which one to try first!  Her cookbook has recipes for appetizers, beverages, salads, soups, side dishes, breads and rolls, main dishes, cookies and candy and more!

Over 100 of her recipes have 6 ingredients or fewer!

I have tried the Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese bars and they were delicious!  I have several more recipes "bookmarked" including her recipe for Sweet Cornbread Muffins.  And, thats just to get me started!  The more I look in her cookbook, the more recipes I find that I want to try!
I like the fact that her cookbook has a spiral bound edge, it opens "flat" and that makes it easier to read while following one of her recipes!

For more information about her cookbook, visit her cookbook page on her blog

Marsha's Cookbook "Love at First Bite" is priced at $15.00 ( plus shipping and handling ), but you can save $3.00  by using the Code word Cookie
