Review - "Looking for Me' by Beth Hoffman

Have you ever read a book that you enjoyed so much, that you didnt want the story to end?  Thats how I felt about "Looking for Me".

This story is about Teddi Overman, her family values, her love for antique furniture and the strength of the bond between her and her family, especially between her and her brother.  There are many layers to this story that pull you in from the very first page.

I enjoyed the descriptions of the antiques that Teddi found, and the way that she loved to restore them was inspiring!

When I read the parts about Teddi and her family on their farm, it reminded me of growing up on a farm. Their farm house and country life were very touching and calming to me.

As Teddi seeks to find the answers that she is looking for, her story will touch you and leave you feeling emotions for the characters in the book.   5 stars!

One of my favorite quotes from this book:

"I thought about that old saying, how we can never go home again.
But, I think it's more like a piece of us stays behind when we leave -- a piece we can never reclaim, one that awaits our next visit and demands that we remember."

In Looking for Me, bestselling author Beth Hoffman brings forth an evocative, multilayered story that moves between the charms of Charleston and Kentucky’s woodlands while exposing the fragile wounds and strengths of a woman who comes to understand the words once written in a simple note and the remarkable boy who penned them.

  9. I can't imagine restoring antiques. I'd be so nervous to mess up the authenticity. Kudos to those who do it though, and do a good job. :)
