Book Spotlight - Mayim's Vegan Table: More than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours by Mayim Bialik

On a recent visit to my local library, I checked out a couple of books including
Mayim's Vegan Table: More than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours by Mayim Bialik.
I enjoy watching Mayim Bialik on "The Big Bang Theory"
and I knew that I would enjoy this book!

I really enjoyed looking thru this cookbook!  There are lots of interesting recipes including recipes for Breakfast, Lunches, Desserts and much more!

Book Description:

Mayim Bialik has teamed up with Dr. Jay Gordon to help parents face those challenges head on. Interested in providing nutritious, delicious meals for your kids? Take their advice. Because, believe it or not, your child will eat greens if you just try a fruit-sweetened green smoothie.   From dispelling myths about a vegan diet to tackling the food pyramid, Bialik and Gordon outline how your family can eat healthier even on your busiest days.
But don’t mistake this for a diet diatribe: this lively book offers 125 fuss-free recipes that will please everyone from the pickiest eaters to the savviest palates. This comprehensive guide helps parents set a foundation for lifelong healthy and delicious eating.

  1. Cool, I didn't know she was vegan! I haven't watched a lot of TV since the 90's so I still think of Maylim as "Blossom" and also remember her fondly as Bette Midler's child character in Beaches. :D I enjoy vegan dishes a lot. Are there any that you think you might try? Are there a lot of weird ingredients like soy cheese or do they use real ingredients?

    1. Veronica, I'm sorry that I didnt see your comment until today!
I didnt get a chance to try any of the recipes in this book before I took it back to the library - but I was anxious to try some of the Breakfast recipes.

I think the ingredients that she used in her recipes were "real" ingredients. The recipes that I read sounded really good!
