Today, I'm welcoming my friend, Joy from Yesterfood to share her wonderful Pencil Case project with us!
I think this is such a cute case, and I'm thrilled to have Joy as my Guest-host today.
You'll need about 1/4 yard of outer fabric, and about 1/4 yard of lining. Or a fat quarter of each each would work well. You'll need a 9" zipper. Cut two 9.5" X 5.5" pieces of outer fabric and two of the same size lining fabric. I ironed some medium weight interfacing onto my outer panels so that the case would have a little structure to it. Assemble according to Amber's tutorial. The only thing I added was to finish my inside seams with zigzag stitching to prevent any raveling. Oh, and a little owl charm. I added that, too! :)
I made one for my daughter (who is using it for her crochet hooks), and made another to put in my Etsy shop. It made a fun project- what projects do you have in mind for fall?
