Review: Sisterchicks in Gondolas by Robin Jones Gunn

I enjoyed this story of the friendship between Jenna and Sue, good friends and sister in laws for almost 30 years.  When Jenna is invited for a weeks stay in Venice Italy, she immediately thinks of inviting Sue to go along.  They will be cooking for a group that is staying at the same palace that they are staying at.
As they learn their way around their neighborhood, they enjoy shopping for their meals at the wonderful bakeries and vendors near the palace, trying the many flavors of gelato and meeting new friends along the way.
One of my favorite quotes was from Jenna -  "Sergei had taken me back to a place in my heart and mind that I hadn't visited in a long time".
They soon realize that their lesson is to "just show up" and God will help them with their future journeys. And, I thought it was really sweet the way that they would leave the door open long enough for "goodness and mercy" to follow close behind them.

A readers guide is included in the back of the book, with lovely photos from the authors trip to Italy.
