Review: Buttercream Bumpoff by Jenn McKinlay

Second in the Cupcake Bakery Mystery series
  • Berkley (Prime Crime), January 2011
  • ISBN-10: 0425239241
  • ISBN-13: 9780425239247
  • Paperback
As Angie and Mel return in this Cupcake cozy series, they are starting a class for couples in their Bakery. Their Bakery is  called "Fairy Tale Cupcakes".
As they teach the couples how to make yummy sounding cupcakes each week, ( starting with "Kiss Me Cupcakes" ) Mel's Mother stops by to announce that she has a date!  Mel is suprised but supports her Mother, and they go shopping for a new outfit for her Mom's Date.
But her Mom's first date does not turn out well....

There are also romances brewing in this cozy mystery..~Mel has been in love with Joe DeLaura since she was 12 ( Angie's older brother ) ..and their Romance is starting to grow strong, despite Joe's busy work schedule.
~Angie has liked Tate ( their Bakery Partner ) for years, but Tate dosent
want to admit his feelings for Angie.

I like the way that Mel, Angie and Tate stick by each other and support each other while also quoting famous movies that they have enjoyed watching together!

Also included are Recipes for "Kiss me Cupcakes", Orange Dreamsicle Cupcakes,
and more!

You can read Chapter One of this book by clicking here . Ive read the first in this "Cupcake Bakery Mystery series, and plan to read all of the series.
  I really enjoy it!

Great review! I haven't read many cozy mysteries like these, but my mother-in-law recently discovered them. She particularly likes that they include recipes. I'll have to recommend Jenn McKinlay's books to her.
